Teen Court of Lea County is a non-profit organization that helps youth ages 12-18.  First time youth offenders are referred to this program instead of being charged formally through the court, providing alternative solutions to criminal charges.  If they successfully complete the program, the charge will be dismissed through the court system.

Youth volunteers act as prosecutors and defense attorneys.  The jurors are the youth offenders.  Youth offenders coming through the program have admitted their guilt to the offense.  The Teen Court proceedings determine how many hours of community service and jury duty nights will be served.

Teen Court offers a peer tutoring program for those who are struggling in school, where tutors can receive payment and valuable experience for assisting students struggling with various school course's and provide further help and attention.
